Care instructions

The wash tub is the basic symbol for laundry care instructions. The number in the wash tub indicates the maximum temperature for the wash cycle. Caution is advised with one bar or two bars below the tub; this indicates a gentle cycle, while two bars indicate a wool wash cycle.

A circle within a square, with either one or two dots, indicates that the item can be tumble dried. One dot signifies drying at a reduced temperature, while two dots mean normal temperature. Please note: A crossed-out symbol means that the item cannot be machine dried.

The "iron" symbol with up to three dots generally permits ironing, with the dots indicating the temperature range for irons with regulators. A specific temperature is assigned to each number of dots. However, an iron with a cross through it prohibits ironing.

If an empty triangle is shown, the garment can be treated with both chlorine and oxygen bleach. If the triangle has two diagonal lines, the item may only be treated with oxygen bleach. If the triangle is filled and crossed out, the textile must not be bleached under any circumstances!
